When I was a kid, the funfair was a place of dreams. The whole experience felt like a sugar rush – we’d run from attraction to attraction, hooking rubber ducks, wreaking havoc on the dodgems, and gawking at the biggest rides. The air was electric and everything felt hyper-real. Lights, music and laughter ricocheted in a carousel rush all around. It was irresistible: one of those heightened experiences that makes childhood feel magical.

 

Sometimes, when we’re older, it’s hard to recapture the magic. Remembering how it felt to be a child, enchanted by the wonder of the funfair, is tricky. But when I take in a noseful of this candle, I can almost taste the candyfloss. I’m catapulted right back to those funfair days. That sugary, adrenaline thrill comes rushing back and I remember what it felt like to be young.
